Matthias’s career started with Siemens in Germany before he switched to Higher Education (HE) in 1998. He holds a Master's degree in Japanese studies, intercultural communication and psychology, and previously enjoyed careers roles at Munich University, London Business School and London Metropolitan University's Business School. Alongside his work at Regent’s, he is an elected Trustee of the University – and externally he is also Chair of the Placements in Industry Network (PlaceNet) which leads the UK debate on improving student and graduate employability.
Rupinder is QCG-qualified and leads delivery on all our careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) to students, alumni and staff. She line manages our Careers & Placements Advisors and industry specific Career Coaches, as well as designing and implementing new employability service initiatives in line with our continuous quality improvement focus. Rupinder also represents the interests of all Professional Services Staff on the university’s Senate, and frequently teaches on a Master’s module about 'Work Experience in Higher Education' at the University of Warwick.
With a BSc in Psychology degree and Qualification in Careers Guidance (QCG), Veejay has worked in Education for 10 years and at Regent’s since 2013. Working one-to-one as well as running some of our workshops, Veejay excels at tailoring information, advice and guidance to help students and graduates research sectors, companies and job roles - and then secure interesting placements and decent employment opportunities, in the UK and abroad. She is currently also studying for an MA in Careers Development and Coaching Studies at the University of Warwick.
Luisa joined the team in 2013, bringing with her extensive experience in HE careers and graduate placement projects from the public, private and voluntary (NGO) sectors. Multilingual and having lived and worked in different countries across Europe and South America, she is brilliantly equipped to advise Regent’s international students who come from all over the world. Luisa is particularly interested in the impact of intercultural issues and diversity in careers and enjoys applying narrative and mindfulness techniques to support her clients’ personal development and autonomy.
Mandy has a BA in International Relations and previously worked for 5 years as Career Development Advisor at the American Intercontinental University in London. Studying alongside Regent’s for her Diploma in Careers, Information and Guidance at The University of Warwick, Mandy is based at our Marylebone campus to serve our School of Fashion & Design. She loves showing students how to confidently present creative portfolios and market themselves for employment and further education.
Anna Colebourne - Careers Advisor, Business & Management [on maternity break]
Anna runs our Placement Learning Project (PLP) where, as part of their course, students undertake a 16 week placement in industry. She teaches them one-to-one and via group workshops about CVs, Cover Letters, Application Forms and Interview technique. Anna was previously a Careers Adviser at BPP; St George's, University of London; the University of Essex; and several schools and colleges. Earlier commercial experience spans Morgan Stanley, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Bank of Ireland, and she has the industry recognised CGQ as well as a degree in Psychology.
Gary adds a wealth of commercial experience from the FMCG and Leisure sectors, including expertise around beverages and fine wines. At Regent's he has developed course modules and delivered student workshops on “selling” and “pitching for investment finance” while, in the outside world, he continues to work as a management consultant for large clients like UKTI and Diageo, plus a number of SME’s.
After completing her MA in Politics, Sarah enjoyed a series of roles with the Conservative Party, London Business School and London South Bank University. Together these inform the Business Relations service offer with a valuable “recent student and alumni” perspective. Sarah joined the team early in 2014 and originally handled placements information before moving over to undertake the employer outreach initiatives she does now.
Julian’s 34 years’ careers experience spans Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Management Consultancy, Outplacement, Charities and Social Enterprise. In addition to supporting entrepreneurial students and alumni to set up in business under the Tier 1 Visa Scheme, he coaches others to launch their careers and often draws on his personal network to create collaborations. His wide connections pool often generates work experience, internships, dissertation topics and consultancy projects for our students and alumni.
Alister is in charge of the work experience process on undergraduate programmes, as well as our ‘CareerHub’ information management system and statistical reporting of student usage for our services. Alongside, he is our representative on the university’s Student Mentoring Programme and also masterminds the twice yearly graduate destination surveys (DLHE). Alister’s degree is in English Literature and he previously held a workforce resource management role in a major telecoms company.
Tosin joined the Business Relations team in August 2015 after graduating from Portsmouth with a BA in International Relations and Politics. She combines this fresh perspective with a strong knowledge of social media that helps us engage and build networks with Regent’s ambitious student audiences. Tosin is particularly keen to create international relationships that will lead to more work opportunities far beyond the UK and Europe.
Rehana joined the Careers & Business Relations team in August 2015 as the Information and Placements Officer. She holds a BA (Hons) degree in Psychology and has been working in higher education administration for over 10 years. Rehana supports students going on placements as part of their degree programmes as well as assisting with careers related queries.
Shirley joined the Careers & Business Relations team in March 2016 as the Placements Administrator. She has a PGDip in Human Resources and has solid experience in HR, education and governance in both the private and public sectors. Shirley supports RSPP students going on placements as part of their postgraduate degree programmes as well as assisting with careers related queries.
