Internationalism, innovation, creativity, leadership, and employability are the key themes of this programme. You will develop a broad base of core business, management, intercultural and language skills which will equip you as a leader, strategist and decision-maker of the future.
Language and intercultural intelligence are a very important features of the degree. You will study a foreign language and spend two terms at one of our many partner institutions around the world.
In addition, significant periods of work experience during your studies will challenge you to test your learning in a variety of real-world business and cultural settings.
This is a four-year, full time programme, including 1 year study period abroad.
The design of the programme enables you to develop a full knowledge and understanding of business and management, to acquire the relevant language and cultural skills, to choose subject areas of interest from a wide range of options, to take advantage of studying and working in more than one ‘foreign’ country and to experience the real world through work placements.
You will be able to choose one core target language from Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Languages are taught with a marked focus on professional communication skills, which prepares you to succeed in your SPA and beyond.
You can either study a language as complete beginner or choose a language that you already speak and be accepted up to an intermediate level of competence in the language. You must not have an A-level equivalent award issued by the country of the target language (e.g. a student cannot take French if they have a French Baccalauréat). The level will be ascertained in a diagnostic test on enrolment.
You can also choose to study a second foreign language as an elective.

Study Period Abroad (SPA)
You will study abroad in Term 5 and 6*, spending time in one (or two) countries to gain life-changing international experience. Your target language choice will determine which partner institution/s is/are available for you. You may replace one of your SPA terms in an English speaking country, e.g. USA or Australia, subject to the competency of target language and the approval of SPA Academic Advisor. At least one of your SPA terms must be in the target language of your degree.
We have partnerships with over a hundred around the world. This provides students with the opportunity to strengthen intercultural understanding, gain exposure to a more varied selection of academic modes, as well as significantly driving up their language skills. The University’s International Partnerships Office will support you before, during and after your SPA.

Placement Learning Project (PLP)
This is an optional replacement for the second SPA in Term 6. The Placement Learning Project is a 4 to 5 month (16 week minimum) module which aims to formally and academically utilise the student’s theoretical business knowledge in a real-life industry environment. The module is formed of these three elements:
• a 16 week placement in an internship setting
• a formal and concurrent structure of academic submissions
• a supervisory tutor/student relationship
Work placements are an integral part of the programme and you are required to undertake two 8-week blocks of work placements before the final year of study, in order to gain valuable industry experience, and also to provide a source of reflection and investigation for your final-year capstone module – Applied Business Project.
The work placements provide practical enrichment of your learning, allowing you to test your knowledge in a variety of real-world business and cultural settings. Such experience is highly valued by potential employers and will significantly enhance your career prospects and employability after graduation.
The University’s Careers & Business Relations team will support you throughout your placement.
*You may eligible to replace your second SPA in Term 6 with a Placement Learning Project (PLP). The PLP requires the student to undertake a 16-week Internship and conduct and academic analysis/investigation of certain aspects of the placement and our role. Various academic submissions are demanded, culminating in the submission of a major report.
Term 1 & 2 (year-long module)
The Regent’s module elective (RME) is a free choice for you to pick an area from anywhere on the campus subject to availability to broaden your perspective and enjoy your studies.
Term 3 & 4

A wide range of curriculum delivery methods are used on the programme including; lectures, seminars, role plays, case studies, external guest speakers, e-learning via VLE, field trips, leadership experiences at another specialist location, seen and unseen examinations, presentations, written assignments, portfolio building, group work, simulations, peer assessments and workshops. Considerable emphasis is placed on self-directed personal development through assessments and module curricula.
As you progress through the levels of the programme, the emphasis shifts from learning to analysis and critical appraisal of the subject matter, reflecting your academic and personal development. We emphasise the practical application of academic learning. You will explore real-world case studies, visit different organisations and hear from regular guest lecturers, offering new perspectives from industry and academia.
A wide variety of assessments are used to assess student progress towards meeting intended programme learning outcomes. Students will receive feedback on formative assessments and be given the opportunity to demonstrate competency through summative submissions.

The complex, fast-moving world of international business offers many challenges and opportunities. The diverse nature of the BA (Hons) International Business programme will prepare you for a career as a leader, manager, strategist or entrepreneur in many different sectors and in small, large, multinational or family-run businesses across the world.
All areas of the international business sector will be open to you, including Management, Finance, Banking, IT and Big Data Analytics, Corporate Governance, Consultancy, Strategy, Retail, Human Resources, Advertising and Marketing.
You can also seek the opportunities to specialise your knowledge and skills by taking a more specialised postgraduate degree. Examples of postgraduate degrees undertaken by our students are MSc in Finance, MSc in Banking, MSc in Investment and Wealth Management, MSc in Marketing, MA in Brand Management, MA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, MA in Human Resource Management, MSc in Management with Technology Management, etc.
We require a minimum of three passes at GCE A-level at grade C or above, and five passes at GCSE/IGCSE level at grade C or above, including English and Maths. We also accept equivalent qualifications, including:

Please note, if you are applying with a 12-year high school qualification such as an American High School Diploma (without any AP passes), you will normally be required to complete the one-year Integrated Foundation before progressing to your chosen BA (Hons) degree course.

Transfer of credits
If you have already participated in degree-level education, you may be able to transfer some of your credits towards a course at Regent's University London. We recognise Advanced Prior Learning (APL), which may make it possible for you to begin your studies at a more advanced level within the programme.
This is at the discretion of Regent's University London.
Any applicant being considered for APL will be required to have equivalent qualifications from another university. A key criterion for the acceptance of APL qualifications will be the similarity of the learning outcomes between the two programmes, so that the exemptions can be matched specifically to particular modules within the Regent's University London undergraduate degree programme.
To apply for transfer of credit, you must provide detailed descriptions (certified English translations where necessary) of any courses taken, and transcripts of relevant grades. Transfer of credit will only be assessed before entry. Please note: all transfer students must complete at least three semesters at Regent's University London, and transfer into the final year of the degree programme is not possible. All credit transfer is subject to a language test in your chosen foreign language(s). Your level of foreign language skills will determine the level at which you can enter the programme.
English is the language of instruction, but it is not a language option. Of the nine languages offered at Regent's, you cannot study your native language. In addition, the programme does not allow students to take more than one language at beginner level.
At registration, if you are a non-beginner language student you will be required to take a diagnostic test in your chosen language. The results of this test will determine which language class you will be placed in.

Applying to study at Regent's is a quick and easy process. We accept direct applications, have no formal application deadlines and there is no application fee.
Step 1 Apply

Step 2 Making an offer
We will assess whether you meet our minimum entry requirements and will make you an offer by both email and post, or notify you that you have been unsuccessful. UCAS applicants will also receive official notification via the UCAS system.
If you have completed your education and have met all the entry requirements, you will be sent an unconditional offer. If you still have to finish your exams, or have yet to submit supporting documentation, we will make you a conditional offer.
You can expect to receive a decision on your application within 10 working days of receipt of your completed application and supporting documents.
Step 3 Accepting the offer

The Filippo Corsini Polo Scholarship
The Regent’s polo team has enjoyed considerable success over recent years, with our novice team winning second place in the Schools and Universities Polo Association competition in 2014. From March 2017, Regent’s will host its own annual invitational tournament.
To support the team’s continuous improvement, from 2017 the University will award two polo scholarships each year to students who show both the polo skills and the leadership acumen to help the team’s development.
The scholarship is named in memory of Regent’s student Prince Filippo Corsini, an accomplished equestrian and showjumper, in recognition of his sporting prowess and exceptional leadership skills.
Prince Filippo, the heir to a noble Florentine family, was in his first year of study for the BA (Hons) International Business at the University when his life was cut short by a tragic accident in 2016. The scholarship celebrates Filippo’s life and the promise he showed, both on and off the field.
Regent’s Vice Chancellor Professor Aldwyn Cooper described Filippo as a young man who ‘Epitomised the type of student we seek to recruit to Regent’s. His application to study, enjoyment of sport and leadership in many fields were outstanding.’
Filippo’s tutor, Samantha Lee, said: ‘He proved not only to have a keen business mind, but was also a motivational and supportive team player and an inspiring leader. Filippo achieved a first-class result in the team-working and leadership event and his team named him Most Valued Player.’
