Our team of dedicated Careers and Business Relations (CBR) staff offer careers education, information, advice and guidance to help you to secure your career goals. This includes extensive careers counselling, as well as assistance in finding an internship or a permanent job after graduation.

Personalised careers guidance

You will have access to professional one to one consultations with your programme Careers Advisor, to help you identify your skills, interests, abilities and the labour market to make informed career decisions.

Career coaching

Sector specific Career Coaches, who work in industry, provide our students with professional development and networking skills to facilitate their career decisions and sector knowledge.

Enterprise support

Regent’s students are unusually entrepreneurial and many want to set up a business of their own instead of finding employment. Here our support will steer their market research and mentor their progress. Where possible we may also connect them with established entrepreneurs and alumni whose expertise can assist them in making better decisions and avoid mistakes.

Regent’s University London is also accredited to endorse the applications of up to 20 graduate entrepreneurs each year.

Employability workshops

Information and advice is provided through interactive workshops to help students create a winning CV, write effective applications and perform at their best in interviews or assessment centres. Please click here for detailed information about the workshops.

Employer events

The Business Relations team organises numerous events each semester. Most of these are exclusive to Regent's University London students and formats include company presentations, panel discussions and networking.

Online resources

In addition to regular face-to-face contact with our expert staff, CBR offers a wide range of online resources to help you in your job search. These include our:

  • Online vacancies board which advertises the latest internships, part-time work, volunteering, graduate and postgraduate opportunities, available in the UK and globally
  • Going Global database for students looking to work abroad
  • Advice sheets, videos and self-assessment tools

Support for students with disabilities

All CBR staff receive on-going training on how best to support you if you have a disability.

We can advise you on disclosing your disability or health condition to employers and discuss any benefits there may be, such as extra time to complete the online assessment tests that are often used as part of some recruitment processes.

In addition, we can point you to websites that offer unique opportunities and employers who will guarantee you an interview.

We regularly liaise with the Disability Officer to ensure we provide you with the most up-to-date information regarding changes to UK employment legislation, your rights and the opportunities available to you.

Industry spotlight

Tom Lyas, Resourcing Manager & Graduate Recruiter for TESCO

I have found that Regent’s students are well researched, passionate & serious about their own career path – they asked very relevant and well thought out questions of myself, and are genuinely interested in the responses. I also found the students focused on the ‘bigger, global picture’ rather than just business in their own sectors/ countries – as a recruiter for a multi-national, cross functional business I’m well positioned to advise that this is both a rare and very value added skill!
